Appointment Scheduling Details
The purpose of your child's first visit is to provide information to help you care for your child's teeth now and in the future. We encourage you to tell your child about their first dental visit and recommend reading books that explain what is to be expected. We appreciate your assitance in helping your child have a positive experience and ask that you refrain from using words like "shot," "needle," "drill," "pull," or "hurt." We are highly trained to use words that convey the same meaning but are less intimidating. Telling your children that their visit will be fun will help ensure they enjoy their first experience!

We invite you to stay with your child during the intial examination. During future appointments, we suggest you allow your child to accompany our staff through the dental experience. We are all trained to help children overcome anxiety and dental fear. Sudies have shown that most children over the age of 3 react more postively when premitted to experience the dental visit on their own and in an environment designed for children.

For the safety and privacy of all patients, other children who are not being treated should remain in the reception room with a supervising adult.
